Throughout my career I have been driven by a passion to continually improve the performance of the teams that I have led. I can now bring that zeal for progress, and my combination of proven manufacturing skills, knowledge, experience and drive, to your business.
I began my career as an HGV apprentice with British Leyland. After obtaining my first degree I joined the British Steel graduate management scheme. Throughout the following 20+ years I held engineering or production management roles with companies that manufacture steel, engine lubricants, fine chemicals and personal care products.
Throughout my career I have invested significant time, energy, and sometimes money, into my personal development and continuing education. Consequently I have achieved numerous professional qualifications and certifications of which I was extremely proud to become a Fellow of the Institution of Mechanical Engineers in 2010.
Manufacturing Champions 2017
In 2017, I led a team to win the Manufacturing Management magazine Manufacturing Champions Team award beating finalists Coca Cola, Weetabix and Glenmorangie.
The focus of the project was to cut waste by improving control of how a range of pack sizes were filled. The most dramatic outcome of the project was the increase in sales revenue as better fill control stopped the product being effectively given away for free.
